For this tutorial you will need:

Mura's Meister Filter in Pole Transform
VM Toolbox Zoom Blur
Filter Factory Gallery A - or some other Pool Shadow Filter
Planet tube - Star Brush - Decorative Corners download mine HERE

This tutorial was written in PSP 8 but can be done in other versions

Let's Begin!

1. Open a transparent canvas 400 x 400

2. Flood fill with a gradient that matches the tube you will be using - my colors are #FECF89 & #EA54AA - using the Foreground/Background gradient
with an angle of 135.

3. Create a new raster layer and place your tube - make two duplicates of your tube and hide them by clicking on the eyes - make sure to click on the first tube layer to make it active.

4. Go to Effects/Plugins/MuRa's Meister/Pole Transform and use the following settings:

you should have something like this:

Now add a drop shadow Vertical: 0 Horizontal 2 Opacity 75 Blur 9

5. Activate your gradient layer and Go to Effects/Illumination Effects/Sunburst using these settings:

I used #FFF073 for my sunburst color
*Note* - you have to guess on the placement of your sunburst and may have to Undo/Redo a
couple of times to get the placement right.

6. Unhide and activate the 2nd tube layer

7. Go to Effects/Plugins/VM Toolbox/Zoom Blur and use these settings:

*Note* these settings will vary depending upon where you placed your tube on the canvas. You
can use the move tool to place the Zoom Blur where you like it.

8. Unhide & activate your 3rd tube layer and add a drop shadow - I used the same settings as before
You should have something like this:

9. Activate your text tool - create as vector - anti-alias checked Stroke 1 - I switched my Foreground/Background colors so I had the pink for a stroke color and my Background set to gradient.
To achieve the vertical text I simply type the first letter then hit enter, type the next letter, hit enter and so on before I click Apply. If you have PSP 9 you can use the vertical text option

10. To get your text perspective the way I did you have to play a little with your deformation box.
I used the center grab handle to first tilt my text to match the angle of my rays. Then holding down the Ctrl key I grabbed the top corner bars and pushed them inward, then holding down the Ctrl key again I grabbed the bottom handles and pulled them out a little.
I had to adjust my angle once again after I had the perspective I wanted. Once you have it looking the way you like it, right click on your vector layer in
your layers palette and Convert to Raster.

11. Here is where you apply any text effects you like such as an inner bevel or Blade Pro preset.
Depending on which effect you use, you may have to go to Selections/Select All/Selections/Float
to apply the preset. Then add a drop shadow.

12. Create a new raster layer and add the planet tube - add a drop shadow. I re-colored it to match my graphic. You can do
the same by opening the tube - Select all/Selection float - keep selected and add a new raster layer - flood fill this new layer with your gradient - deselect and in the layers palette change the blend mode to Overlay then merge visible.

13. New raster layer - set your foreground to a metallic gold gradient and open your brush tool.
Go to the custom brushes drop down box and choose the 3Astarz2 brush. I used various sizes,
rotation and opacity and placed some stars in the background area of my image. Add a drop shadow.

14. New raster layer - open the tube named Lightning that comes with PSP8 size 60 and click somewhere in your background - you may have to Undo-Redo this a couple of times until you get the lighting bolt you like. I then dragged this
layer under my planet.

15. Right click on your layer palette and go to Merge/merge flatten

16. Add a border size 6 and click with your magic wand to select and flood fill with your gold gradient.

17. Effects/Plugins/Filter Factory Gallery A/Pool Shadow with these settings:

*Note* there are other pool shadow filters that you can use on this step I just went to this one first. Deselect.

18. Add another border size 20 - select it with your magic wand and fill it with your gradient.

19. Effects/Texture Effects/Soft Plastic and use the "Oiled" preset

20. Add an inner Bevel with these settings:

21. Create a new Raster layer - copy and paste the gold star corner & position in the bottom right corner -  add a drop shadow H & V 1, Opacity 60, Blur 1 - duplicate - Image/Flip - duplicate - Image/ Mirror - duplicate - Image/Flip

That's it! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

When Heidi sent me her results I just had to ask if I could post it.
Thank you Heidi, it's gorgeous!
